Are there mythical heroes, besides christ, that were born of virgins? If so can I have a list of three or four? I'm trying to explain to a friend that a prophecy made in Isaiah could have been meant for other so called messiahs. thanks

Sure,

First that comes to mind is The Buddha, he was supposedly born from a virgin named Maya when she had a vision of a white elephant decending from the sky.

As for the Isaiah prophesy, I would argue that the word in the original hebrew (almah) didn't necessarily imply a virgin but could have been any young women...
