I have found myself wondering how people can be catholic after all the damage that the catholic religion has done. How do people follow with such blind devotion a group that has plenty of past corrupted leaders, a treacherous past, and such irrational beliefs. The church itself has to be full of people who either don't understand the religion to its fullest or are just plain ignorant, perhaps even arrogant.

The church has been known throughout history to have a wealth of issues involving keeping celibacy. Multiple popes have been known to sneak off and have intercourse with some nun or other female. They have also been known to go off and torture people. Even give orders to kill someone because the do not agree with the church!! The first pope ever, the churches beloved Saint Peter. The one they all cherish. He himself was in my opinion the worst. Not many people are fully aware of what happened with him. They just know he was the first pope and decide to accept him as holy. He is the only apostle to ever been called "Satan" by Jesus, and the only apostle EVER, to deny even knowing Jesus, UNDER OATH while he was being judged by the Sanhedrin. He was the only one to abandon Christ at Calvary. He would fit perfectly under the term of traitor. According to Dante's inferno he would go to the ninth dimension of hell. Where Satan himself tortures them. But of course, he ended up being a pope. The first pope and the most revered pope. Where is the sense in that? That is the equivalent of making me pope. "Christ promised that he'd protect His Church and the Pope from officially teaching error. He did not guaranty us that the Church would be never be ruled by corrupt men. "(Matt.16:19, 23). Even so, even if that is true, they still taught error. The corruption of the bad popes, eventually went down the chain, and the priests are corrupted also. There have been multiple claims, and multiple cases against perverted priests who have done sexual acts with young students, even older people. Nuns have been known to be involved also. The church is a horribly corrupt group of men.

The church, even most Catholics would agree, has probably the worst past of any religion anyone has ever seen. There has been stoning, lynching, hanging, burning, etc. You name it the church has had their stubby paws in it. When something went wrong or someone disagreed with their doctrine they killed them. Not to mention, the "holy wars". The wars that are saying "my god is better than yours", or the "this land is ours and holy". How can you have a war for peace? That is like sex for chastity. Entirely unreasonable. Many, so many people have died defending their false religion that they did not know was false or chose not to believe. People say the only holy war going on now is the Pakistan/Israel conflict. What they don't understand is their very own country is in a religious war itself! The war in Iraq, they do not like America, mainly for how we treat them like shit, but also that we are a Christian nation is a sense. We are supposed to be a free nation. But we may as well be a Christian nation. The pope, not long ago, was ordering various murders of scientists. Because they were scientists. Currently, the pope said something that angered the Islamic society, so there is bound to be a conflict there. If you notice, the catholic religion is the only religion that tried to change something if it doesn't go their way in America. They constantly have their head prodding in our society and political environment. Hell, even Bush has Christianity in the mind. He claimed he does not think atheists should be considered citizens or patriots, because it is "one nation, under god". Or country is going to hell because of Christianity/Catholicism. People say the church has gotten better, but as you can see the problematic past has continued to spread even in the modern world.

The catholic beliefs are very irrational. There are so many flaws everywhere you go. The most notable place to find flaws is the Bible. The amount of contradictions in the Bible is astounding. I could list off many, but it would take too long. However if you want proof just IM me or message me asking and I will supply a good list of them. But saying the catholic religion is irrational is not being too truthful. It is not that they are the only irrational religion, all of religions are irrational. Just that they stick out like a sore thumb. Majority of Christians/Catholics that say "you need to just believe, and have a PERSONAL relationship with Jesus/god". Well, that excuse has been countered multiple times with things such as the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or the War hero of Vietnam. My personal favorite is the Kissing Hanks Ass story. The stories themselves prove their point, but they are too long to put down, so again, if you wish to have them, just contact me sometime and I will supply them.

The churches corrupted leaders, past, and their irrational beliefs are horrible. If you can continue to believe Catholicism is correct, yet you know the facts you are air headed and arrogant. If you are a catholic and reading this, I ask of you two things, why do you believe? How can you believe? Ask yourselves those questions, and seriously consider. Religion is not to be taken lightly.
